MENTORING SCHEME

A number of members have expressed an interest in working their dogs but are uncertain what this would entail and if they and their dogs would be up to the task.

To help members who would maybe like to “dip their toe in the water” on the working side we will be setting up a mentoring scheme later in the year.  This will enable those new to the working side to accompany a club member on a picking up day and see what happens on a shooting day and have their questions answered as they arise.

It should be emphasised that you will NOT take your dog with you on the day unless you have made prior arrangements with your mentor to do so.

Further details of the scheme will be available on the website and from the Field Trial Secretary closer to the start of the shooting season in September.

In the meantime, if you feel that you and your dog would benefit from some training to prepare for working in the field or entering working tests, below are a list of trainers who do individual and group lessons.
